“My art has always been informed by a direct response to the visual world.  I find delight in the often mundane or ordinary object.  For example, a piece of textured cloth bound over and around a box provides its own life with very little intervention from me, yet provokes a multitude of meanings”.

the studio

During the 1980’s I established an open production studio in the Coach House at Mount Lofty House, Crafers, South Australia. We printed cotton wall hangings and encouraged visitors to observe the processes and engage with the art making. Following this open studio concept, my home in ‘Strawberry Hill’ in Crafers West was for 26 years host to many open studio days and printmaking workshops. As have subsequent premises during the last few sea and tree changes.

The immersion in a working studio for guests and friends has always provided delight for all parties. The joy of discovering your treasure in a drawer or seeing  art work away from the gallery lights creates meaning between the artist, art making  and buyer.  My new home studio in the heart of Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills again is open on Sundays 1-5pm or by appointment to welcome interested guests to come and discover and enjoy my work in a private, relaxed and informal setting.

See you soon,
